About the "Driven by Dads" Creator

My name is William Spangler and I started this blog to document, through the lens of a proud dad, the vehicles I've owned, car's that I have obsessively researched over as potential additions to the garage, and some pretty cool automobiles built and owned by friends and family that are members of this great dad car culture.

I was born into the car culture with my dad always have something new in the garage. Though we didn't live together when I was growing, cars seemed to be in my blood with any real external influences.

When I was a kid his "daily" car that he would pick me up in or drive to work in often didn't change, but the car that he obsessively cleaned, tinkered with and sometimes sold for a profit often did.

Additionally, though he may not know it, my brother has also been a major motivator to push my passion forward and get more involved in the car enthusiast community. He's always had something cool and often our styles and priorities in a car are different, but I have always admired the ability for him to turn his car's into things that are the envoy of most parking lots with his clean and crisp style.

Throughout the years the style of cars in the garage of changed from 2 seater convertibles to things that are a little more child seat friendly but the passion for something that sounds good, looks good and isn't "that" slow remains the same.

I have been fortunate enough to have had a revolving garage of weekend cars of my own, though at this point the motivation has moved aware from "something that I can put the top down and escape in on a nice day" to something that gives me an opportunity to spend more time with my son and share a common bond.

I started this blog because I spend an insurmountable amount of time researching cars and trying to find that "perfect next car" (spoiler alert, it doesn't exist...), so I thought I'd share some of my experience with cars that I've purchased in the hopes that in inspires, excites or makes someone think about what would make sense for their next purchase.

This blog will be an area to share not only 1st hand experiences, but also to promote stories from friends and family that have been sucked into this amazing culture and share it with their children.

If you would like to share a story, have some pictures that have inspired some great memories or would like to shout out a charity or foundation that epitomizes the positivity of the Driven by Dad culture, please send them our way and we'd be happy to share!

Sincerely,

William Spangler
